Description
In this course, your trainer takes you through designing process of pipe racks in the structural engineering software STAAD Pro. Modelling the pipe rack and applying loads can be a complex and confusing in beginning, but your trainer breaks it down into bite-sized pieces and teaches it in plain English. No prior experience in STAAD Pro and Steel structures is required to get the most out of this course. This course is intended to teach you the conceptual questions that check your logical reasoning capacity. It will polish your knowledge regarding some of the basic questions on civil engineering. This course is intended for civil engineering students who are about to complete their engineering course and the fresh civil engineering graduates who are about to seek a job. This course will keep on expanding as I will keep on adding the lectures.
Learning Outcomes
- You will have a complete understanding of how basic concepts such as work, energy and elasticity combine to give us the Principle of Virtual Work
- You will have robust solution strategies to apply Virtual Work in the analysis of pin-jointed truss structures
- You will be able to use Virtual Work to calculate unknown nodal displacements in pin-jointed truss structures
- You will be able to use Virtual Work to calculate internal forces in pin-jointed truss structures
Requirements
- A basic understanding of static mechanics would be helpful but is not essential – we’ll review enough of the basics to get you started
Target Audience-
- Civil engineering students who want to move beyond basic analysis techniques and determine displacements in structures under load
- Civil engineering students who want to get a good understanding of how to harness the Principle of Virtual Work for structural analysis
- Civil engineering students who have come across Virtual Work but are confused about how and why it works
- More advanced engineering students who have covered Virtual Work methods but want a concise refresher in the underlying theory and its application
